The Sirimon route offers one of the gentlest approaches to Mount Kenya’s main trekking summit—Point Lenana. The 5-day program balances acclimatisation and summit push for a high-success rate for well-prepared trekkers.

This itinerary is ideal for hikers with previous multi-day trekking experience; private guides and custom portering options are available on request.

Itinerary

Route: Nanyuki / Naro Moru → Old Moses Hut (Mt Kenya)

Activities: Trek, acclimatisation

Drive to Sirimon Gate and trek through montane forest to Old Moses Hut. Two-paragraph detail: the Sirimon route is scenic and less crowded than some alternatives.

Activities: Trekking, photography

An alpine traverse to Shipton Camp beneath the peaks. Prepare for higher altitude and spectacular ridgelines.

Activities: Summit, descent, celebration

Pre-dawn summit push to Point Lenana for sunrise, then descend back to Shipton Camp and relax.

Activities: Descent, transfer

Controlled descent through moorland and forest, transfer back to lodge for comfort.

Route: Mount Kenya → Nanyuki / Nairobi

After breakfast, return to Nanyuki or Nairobi according to travel plans.
