Description

The birthplace of the walking safari, Zambia’s illustrious savannah plains and vast woodlands are enhanced by its added natural wonder of the mighty Zambezi River and Victoria Falls. A landscape like none other, this safari getaway offers an itinerary that will leave you ticking off many must-sees from your bucket list.

Your journey starts in one of Zambia’s most popular reserves, the South Luangwa National Park. Fondly referred to as ‘the Valley of the Leopard’, it has become home to the highest density of these shy and graceful predators. You’ll experience your first four nights at the intimate and remote Puku Ridge Camp, situated on the edge of the Kakumbi Dambo floodplains. The camp opens to panoramic views of long ranges and offers stunning sightings of large herds of elephant and braying zebra as they migrate across the landscape. With morning and night game drives aplenty, you’ll meet some of Africa’s most beloved creatures, including the Puku antelope, from which the camp derives its name.

Next up, jet off to the multi-award-winning Chiawa Camp where you’ll stay for four nights at one of the finest African safari lodges. Located along a stretch of the formidable Zambezi River in the Lower Zambezi National Park, you’ll behold the sight of elephants and hippos as they meander across the channel. Chiawa Camp prides itself on dedication to community and the environment. Eco-friendly practices and conservation efforts have resulted in the camp’s carbon-neutral status and a resurgence of game to the region. A celebration of cultural heritage can be seen in the lodge’s blend of Afro-fusion cuisine and locally crafted furnishings.

This itinerary offers an exhilarating Zambia adventure that effortlessly melds wildlife-rich game drives with paddling along the Zambezi river for a sensational canoeing safari. All this is offered amidst ‘African-chic’ luxury lodgings. An ideal choice for holiday-makers seeking traditional safari staples while making a tangible difference to communities and the preservation of wildlife.
