Kibale National Park is a rainforest haven located in western Uganda between Fort Portal and Queen Elizabeth NP. Known as the primate capital of the world, it harbors the highest concentration of primates in Africa, including 13 species and more than 1,400 chimpanzees. The air is alive with the sounds of birds, insects, and rustling leaves.
Walking beneath its canopy is a sensory delight — bright butterflies, giant fig trees, and flashes of colobus monkeys darting through the forest. Kibale’s conservation model blends science, community, and ecotourism beautifully.
*Fact: Kibale National Park protects one of Africa’s most important remaining tracts of tropical forest and connects to the wider Queen Elizabeth conservation corridor.*
